more"Ce travail est consacré au peuplement de la Valloire, de la fin de la Protohistoire au haut Moyen Âge, à travers une approche conjuguant archéologie spatiale et culture matérielle. Cette démarche s’appuie sur les outils et les concepts traditionnels de l’analyse du peuplement (étude de l’occupation du sol, analyse régressive du réseau routier, notions de réseaux d’habitat et de système de peuplement) qui sont mis en oeuvre conjointement à l’étude du mobilier céramique. La définition de faciès de consommation locaux a permis, d’une part à l’échelle locale, de confirmer l’identification de pôles dynamiques au sein de ce territoire, et, d’autre part, de positionner la Valloire dans la moyenne vallée du Rhône.
C’est de cette lecture diachronique et systémique, qu’est issu un modèle de peuplement, au sein duquel l’agglomération de Tourdan/Turedonnum occupe une place prépondérante depuis l’indépendance allobroge jusqu’au haut Moyen Âge. Cet habitat groupé participe à la mise en valeur d’un terroir structuré par un habitat rural dispersé, dès la fin de la Protohistoire et tout au long de l’Antiquité. C’est l’implantation aristocratique et le contrôle des échanges commerciaux qui sont à l’origine de son émergence dès le IIe s. av. J.-C. ainsi que de son rôle central et dynamique. Les monuments et les témoignages cultuels à Tourdan permettent d’envisager l’existence d’un véritable bassin de vie, structuré par cet habitat, lieu central des manifestations communautaires nécessaires au fonctionnement de la civitas, à l’échelon local.
A l’échelle régionale, cette étude propose dans un premier temps, sur des bases méthodologiques nouvelles, de renouveler la réflexion concernant les kômai allobroges et les questionnements sur l’origine des agglomérations de la cité de Vienne. Dans un second temps, leur monumentalisation et la géographie cultuelle de la cité conduisent à s’interroger sur la structuration et les processus d’intégration du territoire allobroge dans la cité antique.
This work is committed to the Valloire settlement, from the end of the Protohistoric period to the early Middle Age. Its approach coordinates space archeology and material culture, and relies on the traditional tools and concepts used for settlement analysis (the study of land use, the regressive analysis of the road system, the notions of habitat network and settlement system). These are implemented jointly to the study of ceramic furniture. The defining of local consuming facies has allowed on one hand to locally confirm the identification of dynamic poles within this territory, and on the other hand to position the Valloire in the mid-valley of the Rhône.
A diachronic and systemic reading shows a settlement pattern where the aggregate of Tourdan/Turedonnum occupies an overriding place from the Allobrogian independence to the early Middle Age. This grouped habitat allows the presentation of a land structured by a scattered rural habitat, from the end of the Protohistoric period and all along antiquity. The aristocratic establishment and the control over commercial exchanges are at the origin of its emergence as early as the second century B.C. and of its central and dynamic role. Monuments
and cultic accounts in Tourdan enable us to envision the existence of a real pool of life, structured by this habitat, a central location for the community’s activities that were necessary for the operations of the civitas locally.
At the region’s level, this study first offers, according to new methodological bases, to renew the thought about the Allobrogian kômai and the interrogation about the origin of the aggregates of the city state of Vienna. Secondly, their monumentalisation and the cultic geography of the city lead us to question the structuring"
